Allo alternative for recruiters

An Allo alternative for recruiters who live on screening calls

You run five screens back to back, then try to write five scorecards from memory at six in the evening. By then the detail the hiring manager actually needed has already gone soft.

Allo Alternative for Recruiters

Superscribe

Stop rebuilding calls from memory

Use Superscribe to capture the words, context, next steps, and time while the work is still happening.

A recruiting day is a stack of calls. Twenty minutes with a candidate, ten with a hiring manager whose brief just moved, a screen at the top of the hour, a callback from someone who only answers at lunch. Each one has to become something else afterwards: notes in the ATS, a scorecard, a shortlist comment that helps the hiring manager decide instead of making them ask you three more questions.

Most people looking for an Allo alternative for recruiters are not unhappy with the recording. They are unhappy with what is left to do once the recording exists. A transcript is raw material. The scorecard, the callback, the diary invite and the message to the candidate are the work.

The screen was never the hard part

You are good at screens. You can hold a competency picture in your head for forty minutes and ask the question that reveals something. What breaks is the ten minutes after, which you never get, because the next call is ringing.

So the write-up waits until the evening, and then you reconstruct four conversations at once. Notice what survives that. The headline facts survive: notice period, salary expectation, current title. What dies is the thing that made the candidate interesting. The way they described the migration they inherited. The real reason they left the second job, which was not the reason on the CV. The half sentence about the counter-offer they expect.

That detail is what the hiring manager pays you for. Losing it is not an admin problem, it is a placement problem, and it is quiet enough that nobody flags it.

Try it on the real workflow

Run your next screening call and see what comes back

A normal call on your own number. When you hang up, it already has a title, a summary and suggested next steps.

A side by side you can actually check

I am not going to put words in Allo’s mouth. Plans differ, tooling changes, and you already have an account. So here is the useful version: the questions worth asking, and what Superscribe Phone does about each.

What to compare Ask this of your current setup What Superscribe Phone does
Getting on the call Does the candidate join something, or does a bot appear? Your own number, their normal phone call. Nothing to install.
Language mix What happens when a screen switches language? Many languages, detected automatically, one transcript.
What lands after A transcript, or actual next steps? Title, summary and suggested actions: call back, add the agreed time to the calendar, set a reminder, save an unknown number to contacts.
Effort to act How many tabs between summary and done? One tap each. Nothing runs on its own. Time-sensitive ones sit on the lock screen with buttons.
Intake in a room Video links only? Tap Start meeting, phone on the table, visible recording state. Remote people dial in by phone onto the same transcript.
Into your systems Manual copy, or a real route out? Filed to the right project and pushed to Pipedrive as an activity. Anything else pulls it through the API and MCP.

Run those six rows against your own account for a week. If your current tool wins, keep it.

Why I built the Allo alternative for recruiters around the phone call

I am Siim. I built Superscribe because I kept losing the same thing: work that had already happened, spoken out loud, then rebuilt from memory hours later. Capture spoken work where it happens and turn it into text, tasks and context, with no second pass.

Recruiting is where that gap is widest. The highest value conversation is not a video meeting. It is a phone call, often with someone standing in a stairwell on their lunch break who will not join a link. Anything built around video links misses that call, so the most important twenty minutes of your day is the one with no record.

Superscribe Phone works on the call you already make. Your number, your handset, the candidate’s normal phone experience. Tell them you are recording, as you would anyway, and the rest happens without you touching it.

Fix the part after the call

Turn one screen into a scorecard, a callback and a diary entry

Take one real screen end to end. Notes, actions and follow-up built from what was said, not what you remember at six.

Start with calls Use your real phone number to test the call workflow. No new apps for your clients.

One screening call, end to end

Ten past two, the candidate calls back. Forty minutes on their last two roles, notice period, what they will not do again. You hang up.

By the time the phone is down, the call has a title, a summary and suggested actions. Call them back on Friday. Add the Thursday panel slot at the time you both agreed. Set a reminder before their counter-offer conversation on Monday. They rang from an unknown number, so saving them to contacts is one tap too. A list you dictated becomes a checklist. Nothing fires by itself, so you stay the person deciding.

Intake with the hiring manager works the same way. If it happens in a room, tap Start meeting, put the phone on the table, and dial in the colleague who could not travel. Speakers are separated and named when they introduce themselves, and the minutes with decisions and follow-ups are ready when the meeting ends. That is the difference between a brief you can quote back and one you half remember.

When Allo is the right call for you

Stay where you are if your day genuinely runs on video links and the phone is a rare fallback, or if your desk has already built process around a tool everyone opens.

Look at Superscribe Phone if your best conversations are ordinary phone calls, if candidates and clients switch languages on you, if you run intake or debriefs in a room, and if your real gap is between having a transcript and having the next step done. The solo app is free to start, and Business Voice adds seats and pooled minutes when a desk needs it.

Do it on today's calls

Pick tomorrow's first screen and stop writing it from memory

One call is enough to judge it. If the scorecard writes faster and the follow-up is already drafted, keep going.

Three questions recruiters ask

Does the candidate install anything or accept an invite? No. It is a normal call on your own number, with no bot joining and no new phone system. The candidate gets the phone call they expected.

What about screens that switch language? Many languages are covered and detected automatically, so a call that drifts from one language into another still comes back as one usable transcript and summary.

Can the output reach my other tools? Calls and meetings are filed to the right project automatically and pushed to Pipedrive as an activity. Anything else can pull the structured output through the API and MCP.
